With new marketing techniques on social platforms, traditional marketing strategies such as print ads are a thing of the past.
Marketing is easily one of the most important aspects to look at when starting or running your business. When running a business it is important to develop a series of marketing strategies that can be implemented to successfully running a business. In marketing it is important to remember the four P's of marketing which are Product, Place, Price, and Promotion. All of these are extremely important and all reflect off of one another. For this blog we are going to discuss the importance of promotion. Promotion for a business is extremely important. Promotion is how a company sells itself to its consumers. When thinking about promotion a business must decide how they want to promote whether it is through traditional print and TV advertisements or whether they want to expand into more modern advertising options which is through Internet advertising. The power of the Internet is fascinating. In todays generation we are seeing that more and more businesses are moving their advertising budgets to Online advertising versus traditional advertising. Not many people know this but many social media sites are increasingly becoming advertising sites. Among these sites are Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Social media sites have become more like advertising sites. Many companies use these sites, especially Face Book and Twitter, to advertise their services and or products. Companies are able to sponsor their ads or pay different amounts of money to reach more people. When using Face book NOT use the site to sell their services or products but rather they should focus more on building relationships and connecting consumers with the brand rather than trying to sell products or services. Companies that build relationships with their consumers are more likely to close the sale with those consumers than those companies who solely focus on selling. Through social media sites companies are also able to track who their followers are. They can look at their demographic characteristics such as gender, age, ethnicity and even what area they live in. With these demographics companies are able to assess who their consumers are and are able to focus more closely on targeting these individuals with other marketing efforts.
